![]() Despite the age, the renovations are awesome. ![]() We come here for the service, the pet friendly atmosphere, the country side, the views, and the historic accommodations. If you come here expecting the same type of property that you'd have with a new-build resort, that's just unreasonable and illogical. My husband and I both work in the construction industry and know how difficult those are to renovate. (The pancake was HUGE!) Just keep in mind, this is a 1700s property. They even were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. We have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our cottage a few times and dinner at the Inn once. I have yet to run into a mess that hasn't been cleaned up, and we saw at least three or four dogs this weekend. There are plenty of stations with doggy bags and trash recepticles. We got the pet package, so we were provided with towels specifically to clean them off so we didn't have to use our own, tons of dog treats, dog toys, and special cleaning wipes. The trails are so fun for them to explore, and there's access for them to swim in the stream. There is a kitchenette and dining table, so we were able to bring food that our picky kid would eat for the long weekend. But since we have a deaf/blind dog, we opted for something without stairs - the Whippet Cottage. It's gorgeous and perfect for a romantic weekend. ![]() I was nervous since this is our first trip with our two pandemic pups and a kindergartener. Despite having changed management since we first stayed here, the service is still above and beyond. My husband told me to drop whatever I was doing and book a weekend at Meander. We came back three or four times after that. We came here nine years ago on a whim when we decided to elope.
